Professional Development

As a psychotherapist. I believe that it is essential to continue to deepen my craft through ongoing personal/professional development and consultation. I have studied extensively, and continue to do so, in the fields of: trauma, attachment, emergent neuroscience, embodiment and somatic therapies, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

With my current focus on Relational and Interpersonal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy I have completed several programs of study through William Alanson White Institute (2019, 2021 & 2023) and the Center for Object Relations (2021), as well as the Western Branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society (2021). I was a member of Dr. Allan Schore’s Seattle Study Group (2016 – 2021) and studied attachment and the Adult Attachment Interview with Dr. Mary Main and Dr. Erik Hesse (2015). Since 2002, I have studied somatic therapies, initially with Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing and from 2007 to 2014, Dr. Sharon Stanley’s Somatic Transformation Program. I am now involved in the training of psychotherapist through Bringing The Body Into Practice Workshops and Trainings, www.bringingthebody.ca with Lisa Mortimore, PhD www.lisamortimore.com.
